Message from WAFEAN President

To our valued members, partners, citizens of Nepal, and well-wishers,

Warm greetings from the Water Filter Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal (WAFEAN).

Water is life. Yet, access to clean, safe, and potable water remains a profound challenge for millions of our fellow citizens across this beautiful nation. As entrepreneurs at the forefront of this critical sector, we do not just see a market opportunity; we see a national mission. WAFEAN was born from this shared vision: to harness innovation, entrepreneurship, and collective action to empower every Nepali household with the fundamental right to safe water.

Our association stands as a united platform for manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and service providers dedicated to water purification technologies. We are committed to a multi-faceted agenda:

    1. Elevating Standards: We advocate for and promote the highest standards of product quality, performance, and after-sales service. Trust is our currency, and we are dedicated to ensuring that the “WAFEAN member” seal becomes synonymous with reliability and consumer confidence.
    2. Driving Innovation & Sustainability: We foster a culture of innovation that adapts global technologies to Nepal’s unique geographical and socio-economic context. We are equally committed to promoting environmentally sustainable solutions and responsible practices for filter waste management.
    3. Building Capacity & Advocacy: We empower our members through training, knowledge sharing, and networking to build robust businesses. Concurrently, we engage with government bodies and  development partners to advocate for supportive policies, fair regulations, and initiatives that make water filters more accessible, especially in rural and underserved communities.
    4. Public Awareness: A key pillar of our work is to continuously educate the public on the critical importance of water-borne disease prevention and the role of appropriate point-of-use water treatment solutions in safeguarding family health.

The journey ahead is both challenging and inspiring. From the urban centers to the remote villages, the need is vast. But so is our resolve. I am deeply encouraged by the passion and dedication of our member entrepreneurs who work tirelessly, often in difficult conditions, to deliver health and hope door-to-door.

I extend my sincere gratitude to our partners in government, NGOs, international agencies, and the media for their continued collaboration. To the people of Nepal, we pledge our unwavering commitment to serve you better.

I invite all stakeholders to join us in this essential endeavor.

Sincerely,

Biraj Acharya
